Alisa Yamasaki is a bilingual English and Japanese writer-translator from Tokyo, currently based in Brooklyn. She is interested in Japanese and American popular culture and has written for outlets such as The Japan Times, VICE, Resident Advisor and more.

Alisa’s translation and localization work ranges from commercial to editorial, with international brands, advertising agencies and production houses, as well as film directors and music writers as her clients.

Alisa is expected obtain her MA in Japanese Translation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in May 2023. She also participated in the American Literary Translators Association’s Emerging Mentorship Program in 2022.
